Data Safety
This page summarizes how LearnerLM handles user data. It is intended to help families, educators, and Google Play reviewers understand our data practices. For full legal terms, see our Privacy Policy.
1. Overview
LearnerLM is an educational Android app for students in grades 6–12. The app requires an account (email and password via Firebase Authentication) to sync learning progress, chat history, and subscriptions. AI tutoring features process user messages on our servers to generate educational responses inside the app.
2. Data collected
The following data may be collected when you use LearnerLM:

3. How data is used
- App functionality — sign-in, chat tutoring, study packs, scanner, progress tracking
- Personalization — grade-level adaptation, subject preferences, subscription features
- Account management — authentication, password reset emails, account deletion
- Analytics — Firebase Analytics (aggregated usage, where enabled)
- Fraud prevention & security — rate limits, token verification, abuse detection
- Compliance — responding to content reports and legal requests
We do not use your data for third-party advertising or sell personal information.
4. Data sharing
Data may be shared with service providers who help us operate LearnerLM:

All providers process data under contractual obligations consistent with our Privacy Policy.
5. Security practices
- Data encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS)
- Firebase ID tokens required for all authenticated API requests
- Server-side access controls and environment-isolated secrets
- API keys (e.g., AI provider keys) stored on backend only — never in the Android app
- Users can report harmful AI content in-app
No storage method is 100% secure. We encourage strong passwords and keeping your device updated.
6. Children & teens
LearnerLM is designed for students ages 11–18 (grades 6–12). Users under 13 should use the app with parental awareness and consent where required by law (including COPPA in the United States).
We do not knowingly collect more personal information from children than is reasonably necessary to provide the educational service. Parents may contact us to review or delete a child's data.
7. Data deletion
You can delete your LearnerLM account and associated data in two ways:
7.1 In the app (recommended)
- Open My Account in the LearnerLM app
- Scroll to Delete account
- Confirm with your password
This will:
- Delete your Firebase authentication account
- Permanently remove your profile, chat history, progress, subjects, and usage data from our servers
- Clear locally cached data on your device
Note: Active Google Play subscriptions must be canceled separately in Google Play account settings. Deleting your LearnerLM account does not automatically refund or cancel billing.
7.2 By email
Email [email protected] from the address linked to your account with the subject "Account Deletion." We will verify ownership and complete deletion within 30 days.

For Google Play Console reviewers, LearnerLM declares the following at a high level:
